The festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated on the third day of Diwali. We also know it by the name of Yama Dwitiya. On the day of Bhai Dooj, sisters do tilak lovingly to their brother. On this day sisters feed their brother with love.

On this day all the sisters pray to God for the long life of their brothers. It is a popular belief that Yamuna ji had taken this promise from her brother Yamraj, that by celebrating Bhai Dooj, one would get rid of the fear of Yamraj.
