Raksha Bandhan is a famous festival in India. It is also called the festival of Rakhi. It falls on Purnima or full moon day in the month of Shravan according to the Hindu Calendar.
It is celebrated in all states of the country with great joy. Raksha Bandhan is the festival of love and togetherness. It is a festival of brothers and sisters.
Raksha means protection and Bandhan means Bond thus “the bond of protection” is called Raksha Bandhan. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the day of Shravan Purnima in the month of August every year.
On the day every girl with a brother cherishes this day. People get up early and wear new clothing. Sister put rakhi, sweet, Diya, and Tumeric on a plate and brother bring their sister favorite things as gifts to give them in return.
It is a festival to celebrated love and duty.

रक्षा बंधन भारत में एक प्रसिद्ध त्योहार है। इसे राखी का त्योहार भी कहा जाता है। यह हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार श्रावण के महीने में पूर्णिमा या पूर्णिमा के दिन पड़ता है।
यह देश के सभी राज्यों में बड़े हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है। रक्षा बंधन प्रेम और एकता का पर्व है। यह भाइयों और बहनों का त्योहार है।
रक्षा का अर्थ है सुरक्षा और बंधन का अर्थ है बंधन इस प्रकार “सुरक्षा का बंधन” को रक्षा बंधन कहा जाता है। रक्षा बंधन का त्योहार हर साल अगस्त महीने में श्रावण पूर्णिमा के दिन मनाया जाता है।
भाई के साथ हर लड़की इस दिन को संजोती है। इस दिन लोग जल्दी उठते हैं और नए कपड़े पहनते हैं। बहन थाली में राखी, मिठाई, दीया और हल्दी रखती है और भाई बदले में देने के लिए अपनी बहन की पसंदीदा चीजें उपहार के रूप में लाते हैं।
