Why is a Girl child not welcomed? in English 

We are citizens of free India. We boast of equal rights for all men and women. But the facts are far from reality.

Even today we have many communities in India which do not welcome the birth of a male child is welcomed with great joy.

This is because they are still ruled by narrow old customs.

They consider the girl child to be a burden on their family. In order to get rid of this burden, they kill the female child even before it is born.

Formerly, woman was subjected to cruelty from birth to death, but now this cruelty begins from the mother’s womb itself.

Those who do such immoral acts should remember that without woman, the human race can’t continue to live.

The only way to save society from this doom is the proper education of women.

We should educate not only girls but also their parents. We should educate parents to realize that girls are as much their wealth as their sons.

Girls have proved that they are no less than boys in any field of life.

We should rather be proud of them that from a state of neglect they have jumped to a position of prominence.

हम आजाद भारत के नागरिक हैं। हम सभी पुरुषों और महिलाओं के लिए समान अधिकारों का दावा करते हैं। लेकिन तथ्य हकीकत से कोसों दूर हैं।

आज भी भारत में कई ऐसे समुदाय हैं जो लड़की के जन्म का स्वागत नहीं करते हैं, और लड़के के जन्म का स्वागत बड़े हर्षोल्लास के साथ किया जाता है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि वे अभी भी वह पुराने रीति-रिवाजों द्वारा शासित हैं।

वे बालिकाओं को अपने परिवार पर बोझ समझते हैं।

इस बोझ से छुटकारा पाने के लिए वे कन्या के जन्म से पहले ही उसकी हत्या कर देते हैं।

पहले स्त्री पर जन्म से लेकर मृत्यु तक क्रूरता की जाती थी, लेकिन अब यह क्रूरता मां के गर्भ से ही शुरू हो जाती है।

ऐसे अनैतिक कार्य करने वालों को यह याद रखना चाहिए कि नारी के बिना मानव जाति जीवित नहीं रह सकती। इस कयामत से समाज को बचाने का एकमात्र उपाय महिलाओं की उचित शिक्षा है।

हमें न केवल लड़कियों को बल्कि उनके माता-पिता को भी शिक्षित करना चाहिए।

हमें माता-पिता को यह महसूस करने के लिए शिक्षित करना चाहिए कि लड़कियां उनके बेटों की तरह ही उनकी संपत्ति हैं।

लड़कियों ने साबित कर दिया है कि वे जीवन के किसी भी क्षेत्र में लड़कों से कम नहीं हैं। हमें उन पर गर्व होना चाहिए कि उपेक्षा की स्थिति से वे प्रमुखता की स्थिति में पहुंच गए हैं।
