बहुत समय पहले एक गाँव में रॉडने नाम का एक लड़का रहता था। वह अपने परिवार के साथ बहुत खुश था। लेकिन उनकी खुशी ज्यादा दिनों तक नहीं टिक पाई। रॉडने और उसके साथी ग्रामीणों को भीषण सूखे का सामना करना पड़ा। वे बारिश का बेसब्री से इंतजार कर रहे थे, लेकिन कोई किस्मत नहीं। सारी फसलें, जमीन और यहां तक कि पेड़ भी सूख गए। मवेशी मरने लगे। बारिश नहीं होने के कारण नदी धीरे-धीरे सूख रही थी।
एक रात, ग्रामीणों के साथ एक मुलाकात के दौरान, रॉडने ने कहा, “दोस्तों, हम सभी ने अपने दादा-दादी से हमारे गांव से बहने वाली एक भूमिगत नदी के बारे में कहानियां सुनी हैं। हम खुदाई करके और देखते क्यों नहीं हैं?” ग्रामीण मान गए और खुदाई शुरू कर दी। उन्होंने कुछ दिनों के लिए खोदा लेकिन जल्द ही हार मान ली। हालाँकि, रॉडने खुदाई करता रहा। जब लोगों ने उसे हार मानने के लिए कहा, तो उसने कहा, “भगवान मेरी मदद कर रहे हैं और मेरा मार्गदर्शन कर रहे हैं।”

A long time ago, there was lived a boy name Rodney in a village. He was very happy with his family. But his happiness couldn’t last for long. Rodney and his fellow villagers faced a severe drought. They desperately waited for rains but with no luck. All the crops, land and even trees dried up. The cattle started dying. As there was no rain, the stream was drying up slowly.
One night, during a meet with the villagers, Rodney said, “friends, we all have heard tales from our grandparents about an underground river flowing through our village. Why don’t we dig and see?” The villagers agreed and started digging. They dug for some days but gave up soon. However, Rodney Kept on digging. When people told him to give up, he said, “God is helping and guiding my way.”
One day, when he had dug deep enough, Rodney saw water. His attitude of not giving up saved the whole village. Never give up so easily,” Rodney advised to all the villagers. Now, they are never short of water. And whenever any problem arrived all the villagers came up together and find a solution.
Moral of the story : Never ever give up.
