We know that Global Warming has become a major concern in the world. We have also started facing its effects in recent times. The term ‘Global Warming’ denotes a rise in the earth’s average temperature. A steady rise in the earth’s average temperature is noted, since the beginning of the industrial revolution.

Since 1960 every passing decade has been warmer than the previous one and the earth’s temperature is still rising.

Causes of Global Warming

The prime cause of global warming is the greenhouse effect.  The greenhouse effect is caused due to the gases which absorb and reflect radiant energy.

The gases responsible for the greenhouse effect are called the Green House gases.

The greenhouse gases when present in moderate quantities help the earth retain the heat received from sunlight. Thus helping in maintaining the moderate temperature necessary for the survival of life on earth.

But, human activities such as industrialization, deforestation, and environmental pollution cause an increase in greenhouse gases. The increase in greenhouse gases results in more heat being trapped on the earth’s surface. Thus increasing the average temperature and causing Global warming.

There have been many campaigns organized by the United Nations and other countries to fight global warming. Several agreements have been signed by many countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

There are many ways by which we can prevent the occurrence of global warming.

Following are the steps which can greatly help in reducing greenhouse gases thus reducing global warming.

• Reduction in the Transportation Pollution
• Using Electric Vehicles
• Restricting the emission of greenhouse gases from the Factories
• Increase Plantation and Promote Reforestation
• Proper Waste Management

• Harness the Renewable Sources of Energy
• Reduce Paper Usage
• Reuse and Recycle
• Regular Turning and Service of Vehicles
• Avoid Using Disposable Plastic and Use Earthen Cups
• Use of Public Transport and Carpool

Conclusion

Global warming is a global issue. It’s not about a single country or an individual. It’s about our Earth, our Ecosystem, and most importantly it’s about the survival of the human race.

Let’s unite and stand together to prevent this man-made curse and make our earth a better place for our future generations.

हम जानते हैं कि ग्लोबल वार्मिंग दुनिया के लिए एक बड़ी चिंता का विषय बन गया है। हमने भी हाल के दिनों में इसके प्रभावों का सामना करना शुरू कर दिया है। ‘ग्लोबल वार्मिंग’ शब्द पृथ्वी के औसत तापमान में वृद्धि को दर्शाता है। औद्योगिक क्रांति की शुरुआत के बाद से, पृथ्वी के औसत तापमान में लगातार वृद्धि देखी जाती है।

1960 के बाद से हर बीतता दशक पिछले दशक की तुलना में गर्म रहा है और पृथ्वी का तापमान अभी भी बढ़ रहा है।

ग्लोबल वार्मिंग के कारण

ग्लोबल वार्मिंग का प्रमुख कारण ग्रीनहाउस प्रभाव है। ग्रीनहाउस प्रभाव उन गैसों के कारण होता है जो विकिरण ऊर्जा को अवशोषित और प्रतिबिंबित करती हैं।

ग्रीन हाउस प्रभाव के लिए उत्तरदायी गैसों को ग्रीन हाउस गैसें कहते हैं।

ग्रीनहाउस गैसें जब मध्यम मात्रा में मौजूद होती हैं तो पृथ्वी को सूर्य के प्रकाश से प्राप्त गर्मी को बनाए रखने में मदद करती हैं। इस प्रकार पृथ्वी पर जीवन के अस्तित्व के लिए आवश्यक मध्यम तापमान को बनाए रखने में मदद करता है।

लेकिन, औद्योगीकरण, वनों की कटाई और पर्यावरण प्रदूषण जैसी मानवीय गतिविधियाँ ग्रीनहाउस गैसों में वृद्धि का कारण बनती हैं। ग्रीनहाउस गैसों में वृद्धि के परिणामस्वरूप पृथ्वी की सतह पर अधिक गर्मी फंस जाती है। इस प्रकार औसत तापमान में वृद्धि और ग्लोबल वार्मिंग का कारण बनता है।

ग्लोबल वार्मिंग से लड़ने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र और अन्य देशों द्वारा कई अभियान चलाए गए हैं। ग्रीनहाउस गैस उत्सर्जन को कम करने के लिए कई देशों द्वारा कई समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं।

ऐसे कई तरीके हैं जिनसे हम ग्लोबल वार्मिंग की घटना को रोक सकते हैं।

निम्नलिखित कदम हैं जो ग्रीनहाउस गैसों को कम करने में बहुत मदद कर सकते हैं और इस प्रकार ग्लोबल वार्मिंग को कम कर सकते हैं।

जीवाश्म ईंधन को जलाने से बचें/रोकें
परिवहन प्रदूषण में कमी
इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों का उपयोग करना
कारखानों से ग्रीनहाउस गैसों के उत्सर्जन को प्रतिबंधित करना
वृक्षारोपण बढ़ाएँ और वृक्षारोपण को बढ़ावा दें
उचित अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन
बिजली की बर्बादी से बचें
एलईडी बल्ब का प्रयोग
ऊर्जा के नवीकरणीय स्रोतों का दोहन करें
कागज का उपयोग कम करें
पुन: उपयोग और रीसायकल
वाहनों की नियमित मोड़ और सेवा
डिस्पोजेबल प्लास्टिक के प्रयोग से बचें और मिट्टी के प्यालों का प्रयोग करें
सार्वजनिक परिवहन और कारपूल का उपयोग

निष्कर्ष

ग्लोबल वार्मिंग एक वैश्विक मुद्दा है। यह किसी एक देश या एक व्यक्ति के बारे में नहीं है। यह हमारी पृथ्वी, हमारे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के बारे में है, और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि यह मानव जाति के अस्तित्व के बारे में है।
